Basketry is likely Mexico's oldest handcraft, predating even pottery. It has all but disappeared, but a few artisans such as Eulalio Alvarado are determined to keep traditional techniques and forms alive. This set of three generous lidded baskets are made with fiber extracted from palm fronds, a lightweight and durable materials favored for baskets for long-term storage.
