Part of a long lineage of silk artisans, Nurmukhammad Valiyev combines traditional techniques with modern trends inspired by Uzbekistan's culture. Using a classic loom, the artisan handweaves this scarf from soft silk yarns, creating a bewitching ikat pattern in a palette of crimson, red, yellow and teal hues, which dance gracefully at the fringed ends.
