Handmade Two-Piece Set of Ceramic Mary and Joseph Figurines, "Flight to Egypt"
Pausing for a moment on their hurried flight to Egypt, Mary comforts the Christ child as Joseph stands watch. In an effort to wipe out all competition to his throne, Herod ordered the death of every child in Bethlehem under the age of two. To save the life of their baby, the Holy Family sought refuge in a foreign land. Zoila Davila depicts them as ceramic figurines.
