Elias Dela Dorkenoo of Ghana designs this striking African mask. Carved by hand of sese wood, it is painted with colorful accents. On the forehead are two adinkra symbols. The akofena symbol that translates as a "Sword of War" and symbolizes courage, valor and heroism. Below it, the gye nyame symbolizes God's omnipotence and immortality.
