Details

Sunny yellow swirls through a crystalline glass canary to distinguish a paperweight of exceptional beauty. Seguso Family artisans craft the bird by hand in the style of blown glass techniques first developed in Murano, Italy.

The presence of air bubbles accentuates the nature of the traditional hand blown crafting process, making each piece unique.

"I almost hope my mom doesn t like it..."

...so I can keep it! This is a contemporary take on a glass bird. Rather than going for realism, it s not textured like feathers not all the primary color of the bird. There are areas of canary yellow glass inside the clear glass. Sometimes simplicity is still very cool. My mom collects glass and a few ceramic birds, but this one will be unique. If she loves it, great! If she doesn t love it, I ll happily keep it and I am honestly have enough tchotchkes!

I have now purchased three of these lovely Confetti Canary paper weights as well as one of the solid canary ones, all as gifts. They have been well received, and they are wonderful small, thoughtful gifts.
