This original design from Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu is named amadi, which means 'free man' in the Igbo language of Nigeria. The artisan carves the mask by hand from sese wood, an African hardwood, and embellishes it with embossed aluminum plates and paint in red and mustard shades.

“Conversational piece due to its meaning.”

The mask lacks vibrance. The colors are dull. Very Primitive in nature. The red doesnt appear as vivid as the photo. The size is nice. I recognize that one cant duplicate a mask over and over exactly due to it being handmade.
