Joana Addo creates a stunning African mask to commemorate the famed Ashanti warrior queen Asantewaa. Her decisive expression is hand-carved from seasoned sese wood, then given rich textures with hand embossed aluminum repoussé. The queen is shown in full regalia with a headdress and jeweled collar.
