Titled for an Igbo word meaning "good lady," this mesmerizing striped mask uses hints of red along with bright yellow eyes that stand out from the black and white of the rest of the mask. Hand carved from local sese wood by Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu, the mask is also adorned with raffia at the bottom and features carved lines in the eyes and around the top of the head.

I wished for this beautiful mask for a long time, but it was seldom available. It is joy to gather art work from many cultures and feel a connection. I admit the name good woman added to my admiration. I hope I am one. Thank you Abdul.

I own a collection of African tribal masks (mostly from Ghana). I love it. Its by far my favorite of all, It looks much as pictured yet the picture does not do the actual mask justice.
