Working in the style of Zapotec textiles, the Xi-Guia Family Workshop of Mexico crafts this cotton cushion cover, weaving it entirely by hand on the floor loom. The cover features colorful geometric patterns and stripes, and is completed at the back with a slit for inserting a cushion. Say the artisans, "These are modern designs that nonetheless conserve the basic technique of weaving on the traditional floor loom with Zapotec figures like the diamond and the greca, characteristics of the community of Teotitlán del Valle."
