Pearl and jade pendant necklace, 'Lucky Cycle'
By Cynthia
Photo does not convey the luminous beauty
This necklace defies expected description. Yes, it is small, but not too dainty. It speaks for itself with the ring of Jade. Perfect proportionsI admit, pearls do not top my list in classical round form, the the cousinsof irregular shape do exude a light from within. i believe that I chose this to layer with solt jade beads, but since then enjoy it with a crisp white shirtto add a contrasting attitude. It is incidental, but not coincidental that the art of Somluk Komomith has a dominate position in my collection. Shared taste, wish we could meet & speak!
Cultured pearl and carnelian pendant necklace, 'Fire in the Clouds'
By Barbara
Roman replica?
Beautifully crafted. Very delicate. In ancient Rome, pearls were more valuable than diamonds, and represented both wealth and power. In the 1st century BC, Julius Caesar passed a law limiting the wearing of pearls only to the ruling classes.
