Perfect for a beach house
I gave this piece to my daughter who lives in Hawaii. She hung it on a bamboo rod. It looks great and is the perfect casual accent for a tropical themed room.
Beautiful piece of art
Love the artwork Good Akan Mother. It arrived quickly to the United States and looks just like the picture online. I also like that it is signed by the artist. I will definitely be investing in a glass frame to protect this beautiful work!
Perfect for my renovation
I have renovated a first floor bathroom using Jackelberry Wood for the vanity and want to decorate using authentic African art. I love this mirror and the details are incredible. Such a perfect fit! Thank you so much!

Batik Cotton Wall Hanging of a Woman from Ghana, "Woman at the Lake"$69.99
Using a painstaking batik technique, Ghanaian artist K. Baka decorates black cotton cloth by drawing on it with a wax resist, then applying colorful dyes. This wall hanging depicts a woman at the lake, leaning over to fetch water to bring back to her family.
Hand Crafted Batik Wall Hanging Cotton, "Nye Ke Bi"$69.99
In this batik on cotton wall hanging, K. Baka considers family relations, using fish as an emotive allegory. He describes the work as "essentially about the wonder of a woman's protectiveness and love, and her natural endowment of resilience." Entitled (the Fish and the Fry), Baka calls upon the natural gifts of the fish - its ability to handle intense pressure and evade danger - drawing a successful parallel to maternity in the terrestrial world. The artist's mercurial wit is evidenced by a superbly rendered combination of yellow, red, and black. The wall hanging features five tabs at the top for a tapestry rod (not included).
Due to the nature of batik, colors will vary slightly, making each piece an original work of art.
Batik Cotton Wall Hanging with Cultural Motifs from Ghana, "Our Customs"$154.99
Beginning his art at a young age, Ghana's Edward Adeniran designs and crafts this wall hanging from cotton. He decorates the hanging's black surface with intricate, multicolored African motifs, inspired by rich variation among African cultures. He adds "Africans are so attached to their way of life that they do not mind other cultures." Adeniran applies the designs using the batik method, where a wax resist is diligently applied to the fabric before applying colorful dyes.
Handmade Cotton Batik Nobility Mask Hanging Wall Art, "Mask of Nobility"$149.99
In certain African tribal cultures, the royal mask is worn by kings and other nobility. The impeccably detailed mask image features intricate African motifs and is an important cultural icon. It is depicted in beautiful detail by Ghanaian artist Edward Adeniran using the batik method. Rich, warm colors of persimmon and pastel yellow are set against a background of onyx-black, with swirled motifs and beautifully rendered eye, nose and mouth details.
