Thai Wall Art
Like other Alaya's paintings, this one too amazes with its grace and warmth. The simple and clean form renders elegance, and the colour palette brings in the warm sunshine of Alaya's homeland.
I was left speachless when I saw this painting. I had already had two of Alaya's works of art and just could not resist having this one as well. The feminine beauty of Alaya's characters, their grace and serenity enrich one's being with nobility and inner peace.
When this came out of the box, I couldn't believe my eyes. The colors are way more vibrant than my computer screen provided. Each color you see becomes alive when you have it in your hands! AND, the coolest thing that I did not know about this piece is you can see light through the material making it ideal to display as an almost stain glass effect. I'm hanging mine on an A shaped chain from the ceiling and the pony wall in our living room. It is just the right size to fill the space and let light shine through. It may eventually be hung traditionally flat on the wall. But I can't get over how pretty it looks with the light coming thru the back. I really love it. I have my eye on her other batik paintings now .....
"I began to think seriously about my own design work. I started to design new items by using various types of waste or scrap wood, paper, glass, cans, and coconut shell."
