Inspired by an archaeological blade used during sacrificial ceremonies, this relief panel depicts a traditional ax used by ancient Chimu, Moche, and Inca cultures. Peru's Ana Maria Enciso crafts the relief out of copper and bronze, accented with colorful stones of crysocolla, sodalite, jasper, and reconstituted turquoise against a jute fiber matting within a mohena wood frame.
