The members of the Ranm Ixoqi' female artisan group work together to produce handicrafts and improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. The Mayan weaving tradition uses the backstrap loom, a type of loom where one end is tied to something solid such as a pole or post and the other end consists of a strap that goes around the user's back.
