Cultural Ceramic Sculpture
By Mary Ruth
A true artisan, Julio Gallardo's imagination, flair and technical skill bring the return of the dead to life. Expression, gesture and color capture the celebration night and a slice of Peruvian tradition and culture.
This is a wonderful retablo with obvious craftsmanship both inside and out , lots of detail and it showcases Julio's obvious pride in his work. The subject matter also makes it an unusual piece for my collection.
I am so very, very pleased with this Thai sculpture. She is well made and I love the detailing on her dress. I have several ceramic pieces from Duangkamol and it is a pleasure to add this one to my collection. Shelly New Jersey 11-11-2017
