"I am passionate about the sea... so I create pieces that might please those who share in this great love."
"Towards the end of the 1970s, my brother Raul [a Novica featured artist] and I began to work in my father's workshop. We were his main assistants in the crafting of polyester and wood products. Eventually I became more interested in working with wood and together with my brother, we decided to start another workshop where we could craft our own products, different to our father's. We worked together for quite a while and we became well-known for the quality and diversity of our products.
"As time passed by we developed different interests, so now we work on our own. I make miniature ships full of details. I am passionate about the sea and I have a good ability to work with wood, so I create pieces that might please those who share in this great love. In that sense, I am always creating new models.
"I had been considering showing my work on the Internet for a while now, but since I am not well-versed in computers I kept putting it off. Then I found out about Novica and I was happy to know they could help me realize this goal. It is a great opportunity for me and for Brazilian artists to be able to exhibit our work through Novica, because we don't usually have many opportunities to reach an international audience."
