Traditional Madhubani Folk Art Painting, "One with Nature I"$169.99
Bharti Dayal celebrates life's natural harmony in the ancient style of Madhubani painting. She mixes vegetable dyes with acrylics to paint a luscious tree of life on handmade paper. Colorful birds nest on the leafy branches while fish swim up the tree's trunk and among the roots as peacocks nest under the leafy branches. Traditionally painted by women from Mithila on the walls and floor of their homes, Madhubani paintings usually depict ancient mythological themes.
Bharti Dayal signs her name on the back.
Gold Bodhi Tree Silver Moon with Frame Buddhist Art Painting, "Silver Full Moon"
Buddhism inspires Parinya Nanjai to paint compositions that exude a welcoming sense of serenity. Proud to preserve the artistic style of northern Thailand, the artist paints of a lush golden (fig) tree reaching toward the silvery moon, contrasting with a dark red background. Buddha achieved enlightenment while meditating beneath such a tree, which came to be known as a or "enlightened" tree. The Thai artist paints with acrylics on wood and frames his work with raintree wood. This is adorned with a double frame crafted of bamboo and rattan for a traditional Lanna accent.
