This brilliant red area rug is hand woven on a traditional loom by Mexican artisan Alberto Ruiz. The artisan uses pure wool yarns that have been dyed with only natural pigments that are obtained from local materials such as cochineal and flower petals. Traditional Zapotec motifs in amber, lime, and maroon border the rug, which features hand-knotted fringe on both ends.
