Red geometric motifs against a body of crimson decorate this fascinating area rug by the Hernandez Lazo Family artisans. They diligently hand-weave the rug of wool on a traditional Zapotec loom, evoking pre-Hispanic textile traditions. Elegant fringe completes the rug at each end.
The fleece is colored with organic dyes derived from plants, nuts, bark and cochineal, so colors can vary and you may see faint shadows on the fringe. These are the natural results of the process and are evidence that you have a unique piece of handcrafted art.
