With arms upraised, she puts her hands together as though in prayer or celebration in a sculpture by Anna Yawson. She works in African sese wood to carve the stylized portrait, and adds the rich textures of embossed aluminum. She names her design Walayo, a Ga word which means "a woman who enjoys life."

I love love love this piece. I thought about gifting it but ended up keeping it for myself. The work is beautiful up close, but mostly I see her across the room and feel uplifted by her pose and her presence. She is not small - a foot and half tall maybe? I am sure the info on the site is correct, worth paying attention to. She doesnt fit in the space I was thinking of, but I love the home I have found for her in my bedroom.

These fish ornaments are so much fun. I havent decided how many I am keeping for myself. I plan to share them with the store associates where I buy my freshwater fish for my aquariums. These are prefect! I know they will love them.
