"I designed these masks to tell you to cheer up and be happy," says Victor Yao Delanyo. He carves each mask by hand from sese wood featuring the artistic stylizations of the Ewe people, from the Volta region of Ghana. Starting from left to right, the first and third masks are adorned with embossed brass and aluminum plates around the cheeks and face; the fourth has them on the forehead and eyes. The second one is hand-painted. The ornaments hang from leather hoops.

“Hanging on Our Wall”

We have numerous home decorations we bought in several African countries while visiting them. The masks are just as authentic and go well beside other African objects. Terrific.

“Amazing”

I have purchased five different groups of mask decorations from different African artists and this is undoubtedly my favorite group. They are so handsome and well done.
