Wood Fertility Doll Sculpture, "Fante Fertility Doll I"
Winfred Korley finds inspiration in the customs and beliefs of Ghana's Fante people for the design of this antiqued fertility doll. Expertly carved by hand from sese wood, the sculpture features white beaded earrings and necklace. "The fetish priest gives thanks to the gods for answering parents' request for a child and the white beads on the doll resemble the beads put on a newborn for protection against evil," explains the master carver.

"Visions, Culture, History"
Beautiful piece of functional art. It is displayed in my entry hall, with African artifacts I have collected over the years, and never fails to elicit comments from people entering my home. I love that it doesnt really look too new, so it fits in with the theme of older items. Too, the size is perfect.

"Nice space saver"
The table is beautiful and in the spirit of the Adrinka. I love it. However, know this: 1) the table is very light, it easily slips on hard floors and could tip in the process 2) it is not carved out of a block as more ancient artifacts, but of three distinct pieces assembled by screws 3) it is not totally even, so if you place it on a hard floor, you ll have to rig it so it does not wobble

"Charming Wood Sculpture"
This is a very interesting wood sculpture from West Africa. Her dress is made from local fabric which is colorful and her matching earrings and necklace complete the outfit I love Novica's collection of wood statues as they are always authentic and very appealing. Rochelle New Jersey
