Details
This evocative original painting is the work of Ghana's Kofi B. Awuyah, who, despite being punished for drawing as a child, persisted in his artistic endeavors. The acrylic on canvas painting depicts elements and daily activities of West African life. At top left, a woman carries a baby on her back while working the earth with a hoe. Tiny huts accent the center of the composition. The bold colors and dense detail are mesmerizing.
