Unique Hand Carved Balinese Floral Wooden Box and Lid, "Cupu Majapahit"
Recalling the elegance of the ancient Majapahit kingdom in eastern Java, Balinese artisan Sarwaedi creates this elegant lidded box. The decorative box is hand-carved from mahogany with a floral relief and painted in rich colors with gilded accents. The word cupu means "small box" in the Indonesian language.

"Beautiful carved vessel"
This lovely piece came wrapped carefully in paper and arrived in perfect condition. You can smell the distinctive mahogy wood, which I enjoy. My only critique is that the vessel is more gold and less colorful than the photos would lead you to believe. Craftsmanship is excellent - the lid fits perfectly. Beautiful! Thank you!

"Functionality plus charm"
I dont usually think of a doorstop as decor but this one is eyecatching and cute. So glad I didnt go to the hardware store and pick up one of those rubber triangles!

"Beautiful and so unique"
What a unique and intricate piece. I love it. The only thing I am not happy about is the strong smell; I am not sure what it was finished with, but I suspect/hope the odor will dissipate over time. Sarwaedi is a very talented artist!
