Perfect for a relaxing day by the beach, this towel is designed by Eladio Chiroy in Guatemala. He works with cotton, weaving this beach towel by hand on the traditional telar de pie, or floor loom. The towel features a body of celadon with snow white stripes decorating its length. Fringes at either end complete this summery accessory.

Eladio uses a handloom to create his textiles. He was taught by his father at a young age and he recognizes its importance to Guatemalan culture and history. Before he started weaving as a NOVICA artist, he was a school teacher and kept a handloom in his classroom so he could teach any students that were interested in weaving.
