Details

Striped cotton in brown and black decorates the head of this long fan from Ghana. Robert Aidoo-Taylor designs the fan, complete with a rattan cane handle that matches the fan's stripes. He names the fan Soro Nipa, meaning "fear man" in the Akan language. The artisan confides that such fans are great at picnics to wave away annoying insects.
