Evoking the simple beauty of a desert, this Peruvian ring is designed and crafted entirely by Rosa Tomatis. Beginning her career as a painter, the Peruvian artisan teaches herself the art of jewelry crafting. She selects orange leather cords to circle the finger, meeting beneath a dome of high-polish sterling silver that gleams in the light.

"The closing mechanism is a deal breaker."
Aesthetically, its a nice enough piece, but as the title states, the closing mechanism is awful. It came loose multiple times per day. And this isnt even when I was exercising. It would come loose just randomly throughout the workday (at a computer) and its be off by morning whenever I slept with it on. Pretty annoying. Its a straight bar that you stick through a circular metal hoop lengthwise to put it on. The bar is just slightly longer than the circumference of the hoop that is intended to hold it in place. Once through, you turn the bar so its length extends across the hoops circumference. The weight is then meant to hold the bar in place. It doesnt. For what it is, its pretty expensive too. As a result, its now sitting in a drawer that its unlikely to ever leave. Unfortunate.
