To craft this extraordinary and one-of-a-kind decorative accent to display on your favorite spot, Guatemala's Ricardo Gonzalez first bends a stainless steel spoon into the desired shape. Then he adds a coat of white acrylic paint for the base and goes through the freehand painting process next, for which he uses a mixture of oil paints and flaxseed oil. Finally, he finishes it with a coat of resin that guarantees durability. In this case, he painted a resplendent quetzal, Guatemala's national bird, in his natural habitat and with its characteristic red chest and exotic green plumage.
