Silk Sari Knit Hat and Scarf Set, "Exotic Kathmandu"

Women in a textile workshop in Nepal's Kathmandu Valley take scraps of silk left from the production of saris and weave them into a uniquely textured yarn. Knit or crocheted, they transform what would otherwise be discarded into cozy winter accessories that brighten the dreariest days. This scarf and hat set is decorated with beads and traditional mirrored disks that are intended to ward off the evil eye.
