Signed Watercolor on Handmade Paper, "Mahananda River"
Using thin layers of blue, orange and brown, Arnab Das paints the Mahananda River in India, an important tributary to the Ganges. Sketching the river at the break of dawn, Arnab deftly executes the placid scene with washes of watercolor on handmade paper.

"My Favorite Painting"
I have more than a few original paintings in my home but this one is my favorite. I greet it every morning and part with it as I turn its light off at night. It arrived unstretched on a very heavy canvas after having been stretched and removed from the bars. This is my only complaint. However, the situation brought me closer to the painting! I ordered custom stretcher bars for it and proceeded to restretch it myself. This was the second painting Id ever stretched, and I found it daunting, given how much I adore the painting itself! I didnt want to damage it, but I had to get it on my wall. There was a small fold in the canvas as originally stretched that threw the painting slightly off square, making my job all the more interesting. ;-) I persisted and mounted the restretched painting in a floater frame to reveal its full glory. Thank you, Arnab, for the beauty that now graces my home. Your passion is visible in each brush stroke, in the color, in the mood and glory of your art.
