"My inspiration comes from the universe and all that exists within it."
"My name is Fred Quarcoo. I was born in 1998 in Accra, Ghana. I work in fine art, sculpture, and painting. Even though I had a natural talent in art, I got interested with encouragement from a high school teacher. I was taught and constantly practiced and researched every day to master this art.
"I have very loving parents who believe in education. They live together in Tema. My mom is a homemaker and my dad is a civil contractor. I am the youngest of six children. My older siblings have always been there for me when I needed them, which made growing up a very good experience.
"In secondary school, I studied visual arts because of my love for art that I share with my mom. I studied picture making, general art, and many other related programs. Right after secondary school, I practiced art at the professional level and have participated in a number of exhibitions.
"My inspiration comes from the universe and all that exists within it. Portraiture is my greatest challenge, and abstract pieces are my favorite. I use brushes, palettes, acrylic paints, and canvas in my pieces. My first priority is creating good quality pieces.
"One day, I hope to be part of the Ghana Maritime Authority; I took a vocational course in nautical science. I am currently at home focusing on my art but after completing this course, I hope to be able to work at sea.
"I look up to renowned artists like Ablade Glover because of his impact on art. I am interested in teaching people who are interested in learning how to paint. I dream about owning a museum one day. I know that being part of Novica will give me the opportunity to reach international art lovers."
