“Hello everyone! My name is Bright Lamptey. I am a young, talented painter born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1994. I am the second born of my parents, Edward Adeniran Lamptey and Roseline Adeniran Lamptey.
“I come from a background of painters. I grew up watching my dad and older sister paint. This is how I got interested in this art. While attending senior high school, I discovered that I also had a talent for painting, so I started painting full-time after finishing my tertiary education.
“I use gouache, brushes, paper, and canvas; and I use the expressionist technique of painting. I usually paint in my room at home. First, I make sketches, and then paint over them.
“I recently graduated from the Polytechnic, majoring in Leisure and Tourism and Hospitality Management. My painting went professional three months after graduating from the Polytechnic. My dream is to become a professor of Hospitality Management, but I will still continue with my art.
“Painting is a family art and I really enjoy it. I have a lot of creativity in me, so I don’t think I will stop painting any time soon. I get my inspiration from school and from my family. I teach some of the school kids in my neighborhood, since I want to pass my knowledge on to others.
“My dad, who is an established NOVICA artist, introduced me to NOVICA. I am very happy to be a part of NOVICA, because it will me give an international platform to showcase and sell my works. Aside from being a renowned painter, I also want to make a living out of my craft.”
