"In this art field I have faced a lot of challenges… I'm still hopeful. I am going to create annual exhibitions for artists in my country, and nurture the young ones on the importance of art."
"I am Seth Alifo, born July, 1979 in the Volta region of Ghana to Mr. Lawrence Alifo and Madam Beatrice Dogli. I grew up with my siblings in Takoradi. We were four, and I am the second born. My mother taught us to be content in life and have hope in God, no matter the circumstance. After my junior high school education, I attended Ghanatta College of Art in Accra.
"In this art field I have faced a lot of challenges. At one time, my first set of paintings I produced after I completed college was taken away without my knowledge during an exhibition. Another time, someone bought some of my artwork with fake currency.
"I'm still hopeful. I am going to create annual exhibitions for artists in my country, and nurture the young ones on the importance of art. I have taught one lady to paint.
"Aside from talent, the what led me to art is the way it appeals to an audience. I use acrylic paint and canvas, and my inspiration stems from past history. I'm not married, but I have hopes of settling down soon. My goal is to create more paintings for NOVICA; I am happy to be a part of it."
