Mexican artist R. Fabricio evokes the ancient in this limited-edition linoleum block print. The print depicts Eight Deer Jaguar Claw, a powerful Mixtec ruler in Oaxaca in the 11th century, as seen in the Codex Zouche-Nuttall (a pre-Columbian pictographic document). The artist adds an actual jaguar, constellations, and rows of thick claws at top and bottom. Colorful acrylic paints accent the print.
