Signed Expressionist Painting of Mothers with Children, "Sales II"

On their way to sell their goods in the local market, three women walk side-by-side in this expressionist painting by Ghanaian artist Joseph Kobina Prah. He works in an expressionist style, using blue and red ink to depict the trio with long, wavy forms as they carry their children over their backs. Says the artist, "Parenting in Africa is not an easy task for women. Nowadays, women have to work to support their husbands."
