Signed Earth-Tone Abstract Painting from Java, "Golden Rays"

"I was born in Java in 1977, the fourth of seven children. My birth village is located in western Yogyakarta and close to the palace. My father and mother work as art teachers. That's why I'm are familiar with art.

"When I was a child, besides playing with friends on the fields and rivers, I also painted as a hobby. I was a champion in painting competitions. My parents always told me to try to reach what eventually became my passion.

"I studied at the Indonesian Art Institute, in Yogyakarta. After graduating, I first worked in a painting studio in 2005. Then I had the opportunity to participate in restoring paintings in the state palace both in Jakarta and in Yogyakarta.

"I am currently still living in my birth village, which also has other residents who are artists. I'm still single and live with my parents.

"I like to play soccer when I get a chance to escape from my busy life as a painter.

"I hope all my new Novica friends like my work."
