Jose Arriola crafts this set of six ornaments from terracotta in a rainbow of colors and contrasting floral designs. Each ornament has its own hanging cord and the set comes in a striped woven cotton storage bag. Jose Arriola learned the art of ceramics from his mother. He now owns two different shops where he sells his wares in the Antigua market. His work is inspired by old Mayan traditions and the bright colors of his homeland.

"Super cute cats!"
The artist really captures the frisky feline facial expressions cat lovers know so well. I love the bright colors and rustic charm of these ornaments. Great find!

"103 Dalmatians…"
I love everything that Jose creates. The adorable animal sets combine masterful craftsmanship with whimsy. This Dalmatian family is the perfect addition to my collection of this artist s works. They brighten up and office or home space, are extremely cute, and always a conversation piece!

"Owl be talking to you!"
These two owls are irresistibly! They look so chatty, dont they?! Just looking at them makes me smile. I am making them my spirit animal! They are right next to another Novica product; a two sided cat! I just got a lovely porcelain Robin bird for my birthday. The five of them are near me on my side table. A round Robin. Thats an old term for people seated around a table. They remind me of parrots bopping around and it makes me laugh. If Jose Arriola reads this, I love the birds so much! Thank you for your artistry.

"Ornaments"
I bought these last Christmas to put on my mini tree. Unique, and its hard to choose which piece is my favorite. Its a toss-up between the mango and aguacate! Thank you José.

Jose creates the most beautiful ceramic ornaments and figurines. His family has lived in Antigua for more than 100 years and he takes great pride in practicing the same ceramic techniques his ancestors used. He wishes to help this tradition continue and he teaches anyone in his community who has an interest in learning.
Microcredit Financing
Jose Arriola has received 7 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $450 and the most recent for $2550. Proceeds were used to purchase paints and materials for his ceramics to continue production.

Jose's children are all grown but but he does provide financial support for the education of one person outside of his family and he occasionally supports other children's school expenses.
