Sese Wood Drummer Sculpture from Ghana, "Shadow Drummer"

Playing an African rhythm, a drummer is depicted in this sculpture from Ghana. Designed by Felix Senyor, the sculpture is carved by hand from sese wood, given a black and white polished finish. For an artistic touch, the drummer's torso middle section is cut away during the carving process.
