Details

Ghanaian artisan Ernestina Oppong Asante crafts a small djembe drum of sese wood, providing the perfect home accent for playing music or for simple decoration. She says "I got my inspiration from the shells of groundnut that I planted in the house. After seeing them, I decided to incorporate that into my work." Hand-painted designs in brown and yellow that resemble the shells of groundnuts decorate the drum.

"Spectacular!"

Im not an expert on African art, so when I would see masks for hundreds of dollars in a shop I would not know what I was paying for. But this mask is just as beautiful and it supports living artists at a price I can afford. I am so happy I got this mask, and as soon as Im out of lockdown I look forward to showing it to my friends!!

"masque correct, mais ......."

icon star icon star icon star icon star icon star
