Details

Celebrated by the Odumase people in the eastern region of Ghana, the Dipo is a festival characterized by dance and other festivities. Eric Kwafo creates this complementary pair of wall sculptures, which depicts a female Dipo dancer opposite her male partner as they strike a pose. Each sculpture is hand-carved from a single piece of sese wood, given a polished black finish. Accents of brass and recycled glass beads complete this cultural pair.
