In this beautiful rustic statuette by Guatemalan artisans Juan and Carolina, Saint Francis of Assisi and his love for animals graces any home. Carved from pinewood, the monk holds a bird in his hands while three other birds perch on his robe. Hand-painted floral motifs decorate his red and green garments. The three protruding birds are removable.

"This is a beautiful piece"
This rustic St. Francis greets guests to my house at a small table by the front door, his complement of birds telling everyone that this is a house where animals are cherished. Wonderful workmanship.

"My new favorite!"

"Wonderful New Saint"
I already have a favorite carver among Novica s group of artisans. Or so I thought. I decided to try Juan and Carolina s work and am pleased to say I am delighted by their piece. I have a wonderful new Saint Francis to add to my collection. The carving is well proportioned. The color palette is very nice. (The “antiquing” is not needed.) They have a good eye for detail. I like the way they handled adding the birds to the piece. I will watch for other pieces carved by them and will most likely buy a another one that catches me eye. Thank you for including this talented couple with your artisans.

"She is amazing!"
The expression on this angels face is so touching. When you look at her you can see not only comfort and love, but also sadness. I have no idea how the artisans pulled that out of a wooden sculpture, but they did. She is truly beautiful.
