Add a soothing touch to your bedroom with this expertly crafted Zapotec blanket. Carmen Rodríguez hand-looms it of 100% cotton using a traditional floor loom. She decorates it with striped and geometric patterns in a combination of royal blue, black, and white fibers dyed with 100% natural dyes.
Carmen Ruiz was born into Teotilan del Valle's rich Zapotec textile traditions. She works using traditional techniques and 100% natural materials and dyes that she sources locally.

"Beautiful! Just the right weight."
My puppy damaged our first one but I kept it to have shams made from the remains. We ordered a new one, which the puppies are not allowed to touch. I cannot tell you how beautiful this is and it is so well made. It is definitely an heirloom piece. It is a little larger than normal king size which i love. Keeps us covered and not competing for cover as we sleep. Perfect for Deep South Texas hot weather. The thread and weave are thick and tight enough to make for a very durable and weighty but still light compared to blankets, comforters or quilts. Loved it so much I bought an ivory one and am now back for another of this colorful one just in case something happens to the one I have. My only suggestion would be to improve the color match of the tassel thread to be brighter like the colors in the weave. Still, I LOVE it and LOVE Carmen for sharing her beautiful art with us.
