Richly Decorated India Floral Motif Handwoven Wool Shawl, "Kani Midnight"
The extremely high and isolated mountains of Kashmir are a near-paradise on earth. Shahid captures the nighttime ambience of the region in this wool kani shawl, handwoven in the traditional way. He creates the weft patterns with bobbins of colorful wool — as many as 75 to 100 at a time — rather than the traditional shuttles.
