Red Blue and Yellow Cotton Blend Kente Scarf (14 inch width), "Obaapa"
Forever inspired by the vibrant colors adorned during traditional celebrations and festivities, artisan Rachel Armah uses lively shades of indigo, maize, and crimson to create this stunning kente scarf. The Ghanaian artisan uses a traditional loom to create the rich cotton blend kente fabric, typical to the Akan ethnic group of West Ghana. The scarf is called obaapa, meaning "virtuous woman" in the Ghanaian Akan language. The scarf's width allows it to double as a shawl.

"Just as pretty as the picture"
They are just as beautiful as they look. Sometimes throw a stethoscope around my neck at work and these dont get in the way because they are a little on the heavier side. The colors are gorgeous. I have short dark curly hair and have gotten complements on these every time I have worn them.

"Beautiful"
These are substantial and beautiful. The photos cannot show how the light hits the soapstone and turns them from green to yellow to gold to brown to blue...I always get complements on them with my short dark hair!
