"I am curious by nature, I've always been interested in fixing things, many times recycling the pieces I save. I've always enjoyed inventing, building, and repairing objects.

"I was born in Lima on April 9, 1968 and I remember growing up surrounded by love. My parents taught me the value of respect: they always told us to respect others as we would like them to respect us. My mom and dad share a passion for music and painting, so I believe that's where my own passion for music and crafts comes from.

"My parents encouraged my artistic formation, which also took place at school in the different courses I took. As an adult my artistic passion grows every time I travel around Peru, as well as my admiration for our culture and our traditional arts.

"I did my real work, both in the cultural and musical aspects, when I crafted fine acoustic Moncloa guitars for seven years. I learned the whole process form beginning to end: from choosing the right type of wood, carving it, building the guitar and finishing it properly.

"When I began working at my father's workshop I was making acoustic guitars for concerts. He is a famous guitar luthier. Thanks to this experience I began exploring, creating my own designs for other product types and experimenting with different materials.

"About my history… what can I tell you? In my quest for finding different materials I've even picked up tree branches, seeds, leaves, and so on. I'll walk down the streets of Lima in search of inspiration.

"I love exploring Peruvian arts and crafts, and I love taking road trips through my country. That's the only way I can get to every corner of my beloved Peru, see it firsthand and not miss a thing. I also enjoy mechanical work and carpentry.

"Traveling throughout Peru motivates my work because it gives me the opportunity to visit new places and learn about the different types of arts that my people make. Their art deserves to be recognized, which is why, when I create my own designs, I'll try to incorporate the artistic styles I've come across in my travels.

"I would say my line of work is gratifying. I'm creating new concepts by fusing traditional Peruvian arts, and in so doing I'm giving it a new value. I love doing what I do – it gives me energy for a tranquil lifestyle.

"This type of art allows me to express myself: I create innovative products to show what Peru has to offer… and we have a lot to offer!

"I've exhibited my work in different galleries in Lima, and I've participated in different collective exhibitions with lamps, clocks, and kites. I was commissioned to create a screen with a theme of social justice for an exhibition in Spain.

"It's hard to get started in this business because competition is strife. At first it took me a long time to identify the type of product I wanted to develop, and so I went through some hard times though always putting my family's welfare first.

"I hope you like my products and may they bring a unique accent to your home. I hope you welcome into your homes each work as a piece of Peru, may you value it and may it bring you joy."
