Ancient musicians play their antara flutes, a type of Andean panpipe, giving a festive air to this handsome clay jar. Working in the style of the pre-Inca Moche culture, Walter Jose Acosta crafts a replica of a huaco, or terracotta vessel. Archaeologists believe these were crafted for ceremonial purposes to guarantee a life after death. They have been found in tombs, and may be a way of identifying the dead as a members of Moche society.
