Wood fiber and dry straw cord extracted from banana fiber are the materials chosen by the group of artisans from Gente de Fibra Artisan Cooperative in Brazil to create this one-of-a-kind centerpiece with the papier-mache technique. They use natural pigment paint to make the intricate labyrinth design and recycled paper for the papier-mache process.
"Gente de Fibra promotes sustainable development and social inclusion, taking our handcrafts and the name of our town Maria da Fé to the world," they say.
