Made in a small workshop in Antigua, Guatemala, by Ruben & Gilda Perez. The teardrops are cut from light green jade slabs by hand then rounded and given their final shape on a grinding wheel. Capped in sterling silver, you'll love the subtle variations of color in the jade.

"May Become My Favorites!"
I love these earrings! The moment I put them on, they become one of my favorite pairs of earrings and I own tons! I find myself reaching for them more than any of my other favorites. They are beautifully crafted and not heavy at all. The jade color is as pictured and the silver is real 925 silver. They were obviously made with great skill and love and Im feeling the Love! Sharp contrast with black and jade. Nicely crafted. Lightweight which is suiting my earlobes. Feel comfortable wearing with variety of clothes and colors. I have short hair so on display which I like!

"Would give a 10 if I could!"
I really didn t need another pair of earring but couldn t resist. I m sure glad I didn t. I never want to take these off. I love them! Thank you Ruben and Gilda Perez for this amazing work of art. Working with Disabilities
One of Ruben and Gilda's assistants was in a motorcycle accident several years ago. He injured his foot, which left him without a job. Ruben and Gilda have hired this man with pride as he is a hard worker and a great asset to their team.
Preserving Traditions
Ruben and Gilda's parents taught them the value of hard work and that art is an expression of culture. Many of their designs include jade, which was highly valued by ancient civilizations in the area and used as ornaments, tools, and burial artifacts. Their artwork is often a reflection of Guatemalan culture and they used techniques passed down over generations.
Moving On Up
Thanks to their hard work and partnership with NOVICA, Ruben and Gilda have been able to build their own house and support their children's education. They hope to continue to grow their sales through NOVICA so they do not have to seek out other, more complicated markets.
Microcredit Financing
Ruben and Gilda Perez has received 8 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $400 and the most recent for $5000. Proceeds were used to invest in a bulk purchase of silver to craft jewelry for the holiday season.

Their youngest son faces many health challenges but every day they work to give him a normal life without limitations. Ruben and Gilda are amazing parents who strive everyday to give their children the best life possible.

Ruben and Gilda are both very supportive of their children and will continue to support their education with the goal of them both being successful professionals.

Ruben and Gilda have two children they support — Brandon Jose and Ruben Alejandro — who are both under the age of 18 and attending school.
