"I became interested in painting because I was born as an artist. I grew up surrounded by talented artists who inspired me."
"My name is Prince Oduro and I was born in Accra in 1983. I'm a painter. My friends describe me as kind, religious and an art lover.
"I became interested in painting because I was born as an artist. I grew up surrounded by talented artists who inspired me. I had to create many sketches and painted many objects to master this art. Today, I have taught children, students and family members how to draw.
"Starting on my own wasn't easy because I couldn't get satisfactory materials for my work. It was necessary to walk long distances to find quality canvas in shops. I thank God for allowing me to focus and being able to set up my own space to paint. I use both oils and acrylics.
"A difficult moment I overcame was after I completed my art studies. I was looking for a studio but couldn't find one available. I prayed and I thank God I found one.
"My favorite part about my work are the shades of color and the message a painting carries. The outcome of my works comes from God. I'm inspired by chats I have with people, the things around me and other thoughts. My community has benefited from my art because I organize cleaning works every three months and we discuss issues that interest them.
"My plans for the future are to invest in agriculture, arts and technology. I hope for peace in Ghana."
