Details
Three men pound out a cadence on their Kpalogo drums — the lead drum is tuned highest. The second support drum is a bit lower while the first support drum has the lowest tone of all. The musicians create the rhythms for the popular Kpalogo dance, a Ghanaian dance form that originated around the time the country gained its independence. George Blankson Bessa-Simons' cool green palette pays tribute to the young people who helped originate the style.
